Radiohead Teased for Tokyo Summer Sonic 2027

A Summer Sonic video points to a Tokyo 2027 appearance, matching Ed O’Brien’s comments on the band’s staggered touring plans.

A video from this year’s Summer Sonic festival has closed with the message “TOKYO 2027” after showing Radiohead concert footage on a large screen, hinting that the band is being lined up for an appearance at the festival’s Tokyo edition in two years.

The tease follows Radiohead’s return in late 2025 for a UK and European tour, their first in seven years. Around that time, guitarist Ed O’Brien said the band hoped to play about 20 shows each year on a different continent beginning in 2027, and confirmed no Radiohead plans for 2026 beyond members’ solo work.

No formal lineup announcement has been made, and the festival has not commented. Still, the directness of the on-screen message aligns with O’Brien’s stated framework and positions Japan as a potential early stop once the band resumes touring.
