The band performed publicly for the first time in over a decade, introducing new members Anika Nilles and Loren Gold.
Rush performed live for the first time in eleven years last night. The appearance was a surprise segment during the Juno Awards ceremony in Halifax.
The set marked the live debut of two new touring members. Drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold joined Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson on stage. The performance served as a tribute to late drummer Neil Peart, whose family was present in the audience.
The band played a condensed version of “YYZ.” The choice of instrumental highlighted the technical prowess of the new lineup. It was a brief, focused return rather than a full concert set.
This performance follows recent studio activity from Lee and Lifeson. It confirms the duo’s continued creative partnership under the Rush name with a revised live formation. The event positions the band’s legacy within the current Canadian music landscape honored by the Junos.
