Sabrina Carpenter Attends RUSH’s Inglewood Show, Highlights “The Trees”

The pop singer and longstanding fan was spotted at the band’s Kia Forum concert, sharing a photo that Geddy Lee himself acknowledged.

Sabrina Carpenter showed up at the Kia Forum in Inglewood on Monday, not to promote new music but to watch RUSH. The singer was seen at the second of four reunion shows by the band, a detail confirmed when she posted a series of images to Instagram, among them a phone snap of the stage. Geddy Lee liked the post.

The photograph wasn’t a passing nod. Carpenter set “The Trees” — a track from RUSH’s 1978 album Hemispheres — as the soundtrack on her Stories, a choice that matched the setlist that night. It’s the same song she singled out last year on Nardwuar’s YouTube series, holding up the 1981 live record Exit…Stage Left and crediting her father’s influence alongside her own taste.

The moment draws a clean line between two very different orbits of popular music, and it lands without any forced alignment. Carpenter, currently well into a run of global hits, took a seat at a show rooted in a band that never courted mainstream pop logic. The connection is a straightforward one: a listener, a favourite song, and a concert.
