Lizzie Killian’s Raleigh project returns with a one-off single recorded alongside PUP collaborator Dave Schiffman and co-written with Bat Boy’s Hannah Eagle.
Teens In Trouble are back with “I Do,” the first new material from Lizzie Killian’s Raleigh project since 2024’s What’s Mine. It arrives as a standalone single, following last year’s split with Bat Boy rather than pointing toward a full-length.
The track was recorded with Dave Schiffman, who has worked with PUP, and co-written with Bat Boy’s Hannah Eagle, who also supplies backing vocals. The connections run both ways. PUP frontman Stefan Babcock guested on “You Don’t Want To Mess With Me,” the opening cut on What’s Mine, and Killian’s recent output has kept circling the same small set of collaborators.
Sonically it stays in her usual territory, somewhere between pop-funk and fuzzed-out garage rock. The production leaves room for the opening lines to land without decoration: “I’m fine / Actually, nevermind / Rememberin’ why I was mad.”
Killian frames the song as a friendship breakup. In a press release, she says she had convinced herself she was past it until a mutual friend brought the situation up over brunch. “As I started to explain what happened, I found myself getting heated and realizing that maybe I wasn’t actually over it after all.”
The Aja Pop-directed video takes that unresolved anger literally, staging Killian in a boxing match.
