The Scottish trio will take their forthcoming album across the UK next January and February, with a 2000trees return already pencilled in.
The Xcerts have announced a UK headline tour for January and February 2027, nine dates built around the album they have coming next. The record is titled i think i want to go home now.
Nine shows is a modest circuit, and the timing is the interesting part. The album is not out yet, which means the tour is being sold on the strength of a band’s back catalogue and the promise of what comes next, rather than on songs an audience has already had time to live with. That is a confident way to route a year, and it puts real weight on a record nobody has heard yet.
The run also slots around a return to 2000trees, a festival that has become something like a fixed point for the Aberdeen-formed band. Their habit of letting line-up news slip ahead of official announcements has become part of that relationship, and evidently not a deal-breaker.
What the tour does not yet tell us is what the album sounds like, or how much of it will be aired live. The dates exist as structure: nine nights in the middle of winter, an audience to be won over again, and a title that reads less like a statement than a shrug. The record arrives first. Everything else follows from it.
