The Baltimore synth-pop group will release their seventh studio album, produced by Steve Wright, in May via 4AD.
Future Islands have confirmed details for their seventh studio album, ‘From A Hole In The Floor To A Fountain Of Youth’. The record is scheduled for release on May 22 through their long-term label home, 4AD.
The album was produced by Steve Wright, marking the band’s first time working with an external producer since 2011’s ‘On the Water’. This collaborative shift suggests a deliberate evolution in their established process. The band has described the forthcoming work as their broadest and boldest to date.
This announcement follows a period of focused work in the studio and precedes a significant international tour planned for 2024. The album’s title frames a narrative of transformation, a theme central to the band’s emotive and physically charged synth-pop sound.
