The experimental electronic project of Angel Marcloid joins the Warp Records roster, with a new single arriving ahead of a full-length album this summer.
Fire-Toolz, the genre-fusing electronic project of Chicago-based artist Angel Marcloid, has joined the Warp Records roster. The label will release the project’s next album, ‘Lavender Networks,’ on May 8.
The move marks a significant platform shift for Marcloid, whose dense, frenetic collages of vaporwave, black metal, jazz fusion, and breakcore have been primarily released via Hausu Mountain and Orange Milk Records. Warp’s signing signals a notable institutional embrace of an artist operating at the extreme, synthetic end of contemporary electronic music.
Ahead of the album, the first single “A♭ BREATHING HEART ♭A (feat. Mister Lies)” is now available. The track exemplifies Marcloid’s chaotic synthesis, layering distorted guitar, frantic drum programming, and ethereal vocals into a characteristically maximalist flow.
