The Seattle festival confirms its two main stage headliners for next year’s event, pairing a hometown legacy act with a modern hardcore crossover.
Bumbershoot has announced its first headliners for the 2026 festival. Death Cab for Cutie and Turnstile will top the bill at the Seattle Center event next year.
The booking pairs a definitive hometown act with a band that represents a current gravitational pull in guitar music. Death Cab for Cutie, formed in Bellingham and long associated with Seattle’s indie landscape, last played the festival in 2011. Turnstile’s inclusion signals the festival’s ongoing reach beyond its traditional indie rock base, following the Baltimore group’s rise from hardcore venues to major festival stages.
The 2026 dates mark a continued effort to stabilize Bumbershoot after several turbulent years, including a pandemic hiatus and a scaled-down return. Locking in two headliners this far in advance suggests a deliberate planning shift. The full lineup and daily schedules are expected to be announced next year.
