Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds Schedule 2026 Tour

Sturgill Simpson’s current project announces a full tour for 2026, following the unconventional physical-only release of ‘Mutiny After Midnight’.

Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds, the current vehicle for Sturgill Simpson, will return to touring in 2026. The announcement follows a period of deliberate disruption from the group, centered on their latest album.

The band’s ‘Mutiny After Midnight’ was released earlier this year as a physical-only product, accompanied by a written manifesto. It was briefly leaked online before being removed, a move Simpson framed as part of a statement against the streaming economy. Despite no streaming presence, the album reached number three on the Billboard 200, marking a commercial peak.

The 2026 tour dates signal a return to conventional promotion cycles after this intentional hiatus from digital platforms. It confirms the project’s shift from a release-phase provocation back to the live circuit, where Simpson’s work has traditionally been anchored.
