Liam Gallagher Shifts Tone on Oasis Rock Hall Induction

The singer has called the band’s inclusion “a real honor,” marking a notable change from his previous public disdain for the institution.

Liam Gallagher has publicly acknowledged Oasis’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, calling it “a real honor.” This represents a clear shift in tone from the singer’s longstanding and vocal criticism of the institution.

Gallagher responded to the announcement on social media, thanking voters and framing the inclusion as a childhood dream realized. The band is part of the 2024 class that also includes Sade, Wu-Tang Clan, and Joy Division/New Order.

When a follower pointed out his prior objections, Gallagher did not directly engage with the contradiction. His acceptance, however reluctant or ironic it may be, formally closes a chapter of public resistance for one of Britpop’s most definitive acts.
