The London avant-pop duo confirm a June 10 release for their first EP, alongside the track “HOLD ME (SLOWLY)” and a string of festival appearances.
The cello-saxophone pairing of KatzPascale puts new music on the calendar. The London duo announced their debut EP, ELEGY, out June 10. The news arrives with the single “HOLD ME (SLOWLY),” a track that folds Jenna Pascale’s voice into the instrumental interplay. Previous releases like “SPILL YOUR TIME,” “MOTHER,” and “GBTC” have already sketched a sound that leans on experimental and classical forms without getting polite about it.
The EP’s six tracks sit in clear order: “SINK WHERE YOU SLEEP,” “AN ELEPHANT NEVER FORGETS,” “GBTC,” “HOLD ME (SLOWLY),” “MOTHER,” and “SPILL YOUR TIME.” Listening to the single, you get a sense of the group’s logic—raw elements from cellist Sammi Katzmann and saxophonist Pascale pushed together, resisting easy fusion.
The announcement lands right as the duo plays The Great Escape in Brighton today. That show is part of a busy stretch. They will also appear at Supersonic and Dot to Dot Festival, and they’ve already sold out a night at London’s St. Pancras Old Church. A debut EP and a full slate of live dates makes it clear they’re not waiting around to see what sticks. The timing suggests they know exactly what this project can do on stage.
