Megan Moroney Leaves Denver Stage Early, Citing Illness

Megan Moroney’s concert at Denver’s Ball Arena ended abruptly Tuesday night. She walked off after three songs, the venue confirmed, citing an unspecified illness.

“That was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make & I’m so sorry to cancel the show tonight,” Moroney wrote on Instagram Stories. “I never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100% and by song 3 I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you guys tonight. I’m typing this as I’m quite literally bawling my eyes out in my dressing room & it hurts me so much to disappoint you all.”

She promised to return to the city on August 27. All tickets will be honored for the new date; those unable to attend can get refunds.

The interruption comes in the middle of Moroney’s The Cloud 9 Tour, supporting her third studio album. The record debuted at the top of the country charts, and Moroney has described it as the work of her “strongest, most confident” self. The tour will resume with its next scheduled stop.
