Chicago’s Grant Park saw a day of shifting registers on Saturday, as JENNIE, Geese, Ethel Cain, Wolf Alice, and Clipse pulled overlapping crowds to the festival’s second day.
Lollapalooza 2026’s second day, Saturday August 1, moved between pop spectacle, indie rock muscle, and hip-hop legacy. The lineup, spread across Grant Park’s stages, balanced acts whose audiences rarely intersect—a measure of the festival’s reach, and maybe its fragmentation.
JENNIE, the BLACKPINK soloist, anchored the day with a set that underlined her growing separation from group identity. Nearby, New York band Geese delivered a taut, wiry performance drawn from their recent material. Ethel Cain’s early-evening set offered a slower, atmospheric counterweight, her gothic Americana stretching into the humid air.
Wolf Alice, now a reliable festival force, played a polished set that leaned on their catalogue’s sharper edges. The reunion of Clipse—Pusha T and No Malice—supplied a rare dose of veteran rap precision, rewarding those who arrived early. Sienna Spiro, Momma, and Die Spitz filled the undercard with guitar-driven and art-pop turns.
Lollapalooza continues through the weekend; Tate McRae, The xx, Turnstile, Aespa, and MUNA are among the names still to come.
