Eminem Shares Dolly Parton’s Letter After Her Death at 80

Eminem has posted a tribute to Dolly Parton following her death on Tuesday at the age of 80. The rapper shared a letter Parton sent him several years ago, alongside a caption describing her as “a superstar in every sense.”

The note was written after Eminem was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. Parton congratulated him and praised the performance he gave that night. She also wrote that, while she did not know much about rap music, she considered him “the very best at it,” and that she had always felt “some unexplained connection” to him.

Parton mentioned she had hoped to meet him at the ceremony but missed the chance. “Keep doing what you’re doing because you do it so well,” she wrote, adding that he touched people in ways he didn’t know.

In his caption, Eminem said he was sorry they never met. “Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly.”

Other tributes followed. Reba McEntire wrote on Instagram: “There will never ever be another you.”
