After a surprise sold-out Nashville show that included new material, Julien Baker will play three-night residencies in US clubs this autumn.
Julien Baker is taking a different route this autumn. Instead of a standard club tour, she will play three-night residencies in six US cities, a format that gives her room to test material shaped by recent studio time.
The run opens at Kilby Court in Salt Lake City on 15 October and closes at Neumos in Seattle from 19–21 November. In between, Baker plays The Middle East in Cambridge, Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, 40 Watt in Athens, and Bottleneck in Lawrence. Longtime collaborators Matt Gilman and Calvin Lauber will join her for the full tour.
The dates follow a surprise appearance at The Blue Room in Nashville, which sold out immediately. That set pulled from across Baker’s catalogue and introduced new music. The residencies should give those songs a longer, more deliberate live context than a single pass through each market.
