Nice as Fuck Announce Fall Reunion Tour and 10th-Anniversary Reissue

Nice as Fuck will return to the stage this fall for a short run of dates, the trio’s first since 2016. Jenny Lewis, Erika Spring of Au Revoir Simone, and Tennessee Thomas of The Like will begin the tour on October 16 in Pasadena and close it on October 29 in Brooklyn. DJ Alix Brown is also on the bill. The group’s self-titled debut album is being reissued for its 10th anniversary and is available for preorder.

The record arrived during the 2016 election cycle and carried a direct political charge across its nine songs. “Homerun” was timed to that moment, while “Guns” addressed school shootings with a bluntness that stood apart from much of the indie landscape. Lewis later described the project as unplanned, saying there was no scheme behind the band’s formation or the album’s release.

Nice as Fuck played fewer than two dozen concerts in its first run, which made the project feel closer to an interruption than an ongoing concern. The original Rolling Stone review noted the album’s echoes of Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way,” but the songs were sharper and more immediate. This fall’s dates don’t signal a larger relaunch. They read as a short return to a record that captured a specific political climate.
