The Berlin duo of Alice and Ziv follow last year’s ‘EP 1’ with a laid-back funk single, and confirm a Scala show on November 27.
strongboi have released a new single, ‘dizzy’. The Berlin duo of Alice and Ziv come to it after last year’s ‘EP 1’, a record with a hazy, summery feel that favoured atmosphere over density.
‘dizzy’ is a laid-back funk track, closer to smooth pop than to the genre’s harder edges, carried by a chorus that does its work without raising its voice. The pair’s 2023 collaborative album found an audience online early, and the time since has gone into consolidating that rather than chasing the first response.
The live side is expanding too. strongboi play London’s Scala on November 27, with a North American tour following in the opening week of 2027.
Putting out a warm, unhurried single as the year turns is a mild provocation in a market that rewards immediacy. ‘dizzy’ does not argue for attention so much as assume the listener will stay, and that posture is harder to hold than it sounds. The dates ahead will show whether the patience is confidence or drift.
