Billy Crystal to Open ‘860’ on Broadway This Fall

The actor and comedian’s new one-man show, inspired by the loss of his home in the Palisades fires, begins previews at the Imperial Theatre October 1st.

Billy Crystal returns to Broadway this fall with a one-man show shaped by private loss. 860, named after the address of the Pacific Palisades home he lost in January’s fires, is neither memorial nor stand-up set. Early synopsis language frames it as an examination of what remains after catastrophe: family, friendship, and the memories that outlast structures.

Previews start October 1st, 2026, at the Imperial Theatre, with opening night set for October 21st. The limited 14-week run ends January 3rd, 2027. Tickets are available now through an Audience Rewards presale; general sales open June 18th at 10:00 a.m. ET via Telecharge.

Scott Ellis, the Tony-nominated director of Take Me Out and Kiss Me, Kate, stages the production. Crystal’s own Broadway history gives the project a clear precedent: his 2004 solo debut, 700 Sundays, won a Tony and set a box-office record for non-musical shows. His most recent stage work was the 2022 musical adaptation of Mr. Saturday Night.

The 76-year-old’s career crosses film, television, and nine Academy Awards hosting gigs. In 2023, he received a Kennedy Center Honor. 860 arrives, then, as a late-career performer’s confrontation with grief that leans on the same instinct—the power of laughter—that built his body of work. The full creative team has yet to be announced.
