Jelly Roll Files for Divorce From Bunnie Xo After 10 Years

Court records show the country singer filed in May in Tennessee, months after declaring she saved his life.

Jason DeFord, the Antioch-born country star known as Jelly Roll, has filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years, Alyssa DeFord—publicly known as Bunnie Xo. The petition was submitted in May in Williamson County, Tennessee, according to court documents, with TMZ first reporting the split.

The couple married in Las Vegas in the summer of 2016, after a relationship built on hard-won mutual support. Bunnie Xo, who moved from adult content creation to podcasting, wrote candidly in her memoir Stripped Down about their shared pasts, including her drug use and Jelly Roll’s repeated jail sentences for drug and robbery offenses. “Loving somebody at their lowest is one of the most beautiful things you can do,” she told People earlier this year.

Jelly Roll’s public narrative has leaned heavily on that redemption. At the 2026 Grammys, while accepting Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken, he thanked Bunnie Xo directly: “I would have never changed my life without you. I’d have ended up dead or in jail. I’d have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus.”

A representative for Jelly Roll did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the divorce. The filing leaves unclear how the separation might sit against the backdrop of a story so closely tied to their partnership.
