Bleachers Release ‘Blood Brothers’ While Still on the Road

Jack Antonoff’s band has a new single out in the middle of its largest North American tour, with a UK run and two London dates still ahead.

Bleachers have released a new single, ‘Blood Brothers’. The timing is unusual only in the sense that the band is still working: Jack Antonoff’s project is closing out its biggest North American tour to date, a run that has included a stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and five sold-out nights at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.

The song follows ‘everyone for ten minutes’, the album that pushed Bleachers into larger rooms and, by the band’s own account, produced more material than the record itself could hold. ‘Blood Brothers’ leans on the same tension Antonoff has built a career around: heartland-scale melodies set against indie pop arrangements, with the mix left open enough to suggest a stage rather than a studio.

That live component has been the tour’s recurring feature. At the Shadow of the City Festival, Bleachers were joined onstage by Bruce Springsteen, a pairing that reads less like a stunt than an acknowledgment of where Antonoff’s songwriting has been pointing.

A UK tour is still to come, including two nights at the Eventim Apollo in London. ‘Blood Brothers’ arrives as a bridge between the album cycle that is ending and whatever the band does next.
