During the opening night of his tour, the pop star responded directly to reports of a multi-million dollar debt to MGM.
Bruno Mars has publicly addressed the widespread rumors of a massive gambling debt. He did it onstage in Las Vegas, the city at the center of the speculation.
During the first show of his The Romantic Tour at Dolby Live at Park MGM, his collaborator Anderson .Paak made a joking reference to the reports. A viral clip from the concert shows Mars smiling before replying directly. “I paid the casino off a long time ago,” he said. “I’m good. I’m debt free.”
The comment refers to a 2024 report that claimed Mars owed MGM Resorts as much as $50 million, a situation allegedly tied to his lucrative residency at the company’s properties. His onstage remark, delivered casually, serves as his clearest dismissal of the story to date.
The moment highlights how unverified financial rumors can become embedded in an artist’s public narrative, even requiring a direct response during a major tour launch. Mars is now on the road supporting his latest solo album, ‘The Romantic’.
