South Korea’s four major entertainment agencies are forming a joint venture to launch a large-scale international festival, currently titled “FANOMENON.”
South Korea’s four dominant music agencies, HYBE, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and YG Entertainment, have agreed to form a joint venture to produce a global K-pop festival. The project is moving forward under the working title “FANOMENON.”
This collaboration between the so-called “Big Four” labels, which are typically competitors, is a significant consolidation of industry power for a live event. The venture is being organized in partnership with the South Korean government’s Presidential Committee on Popular Culture Exchange. JYP founder J.Y. Park is spearheading the initial planning.
The “FANOMENON” festival is planned to debut in South Korea before expanding into an international tour. The move signals a coordinated effort to systematize K-pop’s global live presence beyond individual group tours, framing the genre itself as a large-scale cultural export.
