Guitarist Joe Perry says the band is exploring “other options” following their 2024 touring retirement, hinting at potential new activity.
In a new interview with Billboard, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry indicated the band’s story may not be fully written despite their retirement from touring last year. The group halted its planned farewell run in 2024 after vocalist Steven Tyler sustained a broken larynx and vocal cord damage.
Perry confirmed the band is not in touring mode but stated they are weighing other options and remain in contact. He pointed to Tyler’s recent return to performing at select one-off and charity events as a sign of ongoing activity. The band itself reconvened earlier this year to release a collaborative EP with Yungblud.
“You just never know,” Perry added, suggesting the door remains open for future projects. His comments frame the touring retirement not as a full stop, but as a shift toward different kinds of work for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees.
