Mount Kimbie Release fabric presents Compilation

The latest fabric presents entry arrives from Mount Kimbie, a document of Kai Campos and Dominic Maker’s deeper immersion in club material over the past two years. Following the earlier cut “Monroe”—a nod to their 2017 track “Marilyn”—the duo now share “Jomox,” a speed-garage track that’s been a fixture in Campos’ recent DJ sets. Trippy, techno-inflected chords stretch over dub sirens and mounting tension before the bassline snaps into something built for sweatier floors.

Campos says the mix avoided the more conceptual approach of earlier Mount Kimbie blends and instead reflects what he’s actually been playing out. “A lot of these tracks I’ve rinsed over the last couple of years,” he notes, “so it felt like the right time to celebrate the music and then retire them for a while.” Occasional post-rock touches still surface, but the core is direct and functional.

To mark the release, Mount Kimbie will host a fabric night on September 12 with sets from Yu Su, DJ Python, Galcher Lustwerk, Tijana T, Leo Gosh, and Mor Elian.
