No Fun Fest Returns to New York After 15 Years

The influential avant-garde festival No Fun Fest will stage a three-day comeback in Brooklyn this July, featuring Lee Ranaldo, Zola Jesus, and a roster of experimental artists.

No Fun Fest is returning to New York City. The festival, which last took place in 2009, will reconvene as No Fun New Perspectives for a three day run at Roulette in Brooklyn from July 9 through 11.

The lineup underscores the festival’s enduring focus on avant-garde and improvisational music. It includes Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo, composer and vocalist Zola Jesus, and guitarist Bill Nace. Other confirmed artists are trumpeter Nate Wooley, harpist Zeena Parkins, and performers Raven Chacon and Keith Fullerton Whitman.

The event promises new collaborations across its nightly programs, continuing the festival’s legacy as a crucial meeting point for experimental sound. Festival passes and individual night tickets are now available.
