A tattoo artist and musician in Henderson, Nevada, recognized the Korn bassist’s instruments by small engravings and a Chilean flag, leading to their return after a storage theft.
Two weeks after a storage unit theft near Las Vegas, Korn bassist Ra Diaz has recovered all 15 of his stolen instruments. The recovery started when local tattoo artist and musician Dave Chipp walked into a music shop in Henderson and noticed something specific.
One bass had “RA ST” engraved on the twelfth fret. Another carried a small Chilean flag. Diaz, born in Santiago, has made those personal markers a quiet constant in his gear, both during his years with Suicidal Tendencies and since joining Korn in 2021. Chipp recognized the basses from social media posts about the theft and began tracking them across other nearby shops. Once he alerted Henderson police, the instruments were gathered and returned without fanfare.
