Stella Parton Condemns AI-Generated Noise After Dolly Parton’s Death

Stella Parton issued a public statement asking for “more compassion” as her family grieves the death of Dolly Parton, while directly criticizing the flood of AI-generated material and insensitive commentary that has circulated since the country singer died on August 25 at 80.

Stella thanked those who offered “genuine” support, then addressed the pressure the family faces. “We will be okay in time but each of us will grieve in our own personal way,” she wrote. “Sadly, because of the way our lives have been in front of the public, we have no choice but to be subjected to incredible pressure and insensitivity from strangers.”

She described a “tremendous amount of AI and endless garbage being posted everyday” since Dolly’s death, calling it “challenging to absorb and or ignore.” Stella linked Dolly’s public silence on politics, religion, and other individuals to her care for fans. “She knew as well as anyone what a negative vortex that could turn into which is nothing but a huge waste of positive energy.”

Stella urged people to treat Dolly’s life as “an example for tolerance and respect toward others,” adding that the moment is not “about the most clever comments, fake AI garbage or snarky tweets.” In an earlier tribute, she wrote that honoring Dolly’s legacy means showing more kindness, lifting others up, and giving more time and resources.
