The singer previewed tracks from her forthcoming album ‘In Times of Dragons’ on her first tour in three years.
Tori Amos performed at Sheffield City Hall, marking her return to touring after a three year absence. The set served as a preview for her eighteenth studio album, ‘In Times of Dragons’.
The new material introduces an allegorical framework, which Amos describes as a metaphorical story about the fight for democracy over tyranny. She channels Celtic gods and a half-dragon character within this narrative. The live debut of ‘Shush’ exemplified this direction, a dark and slow-building track with southern gothic undertones.
The concert balanced these new, dramatic world-building pieces with a deep dive into her extensive back catalogue. Fans in attendance witnessed a show defined by its conceptual ambition and immaculate musicianship, setting the stage for the album’s thematic release.
