Underoath Maps Out Fall North American Tour with August Burns Red, Atreyu, and More

The run brings together a group of bands that shaped post-hardcore and metalcore in the mid‑2000s.

Underoath has announced a fall tour across North America, joined by August Burns Red, Atreyu, As Cities Burn, and Emery. The lineup reads like a deliberate reunion of mid‑2000s heavy music — a period when all five acts were regularly on the same festival bills and record store racks.

Underoath’s centrality to that era is well documented, from the polarizing shift of They’re Only Chasing Safety through the sharper angles of Define the Great Line. August Burns Red carved a separate lane with technical consistency, while Atreyu’s melodic metalcore found a wide mainstream foothold. As Cities Burn, dormant for years before a 2018 return, and Emery, who have never really stopped, fill out a package that leans heavily on shared history.

No routing or specific dates were included in the announcement, but the grouping arrives in a year when nostalgia‑weighted metalcore tours have tended to connect. It’s a booking logic built on overlap: audiences that came up on one of these bands almost certainly recognize the others. The question now is how that formula translates to a full headlining run when the rooms get smaller and the set lengths get longer.
