Suge Knight Announces Memoir Detailing Tupac Murder, Diddy Conflicts

The former Death Row Records CEO will publish an “unflinching” memoir in August, promising new accounts of pivotal hip-hop events.

Former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight has confirmed the release of a memoir titled “Your Pain Is My Joy” for August. The book is promoted as an “unflinching” firsthand account of his career and its most controversial episodes.

Central to the memoir’s narrative will be Knight’s perspective on the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur, an event that remains a defining unsolved mystery in music history. Knight, who was in the car with Shakur during the Las Vegas shooting, has previously offered fragmented public statements but now promises a detailed recounting.

The publication also claims to detail Knight’s storied and often adversarial relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs, referencing “brawls” between the two moguls whose label rivalry shaped 1990s hip-hop. The memoir arrives as Knight serves a 28-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter in an unrelated case.
