Banoffee Returns to Solo Work With ‘Muscles’ EP and a Club-Tested Approach

After three years running an LA club night, Banoffee is back with her own production and vocals on the ‘Muscles’ EP, due September 25.

Banoffee spent the past three years away from making records, instead running Loose, a cult club night in Los Angeles. That shift in focus now feeds directly into her return. The Melbourne-born artist, producer, and DJ is set to release the ‘Muscles’ EP on September 25, marking a resumption of solo songwriting, production, and vocals under her own name.

The lead single, ‘Moth On My Mouth,’ maps the terrain: juddering percussion, chopped-up vocals, and melodies that carry a nocturnal, rain-slicked sharpness. Ahead of the EP, Banoffee has shared a new mix for DMY that draws the same chaotic, floor-focused energy into a longer form. The set pulls from pop edits, rave textures, and hard mute changes, balancing rough cuts against delicate moments.

“Starting to release music again, I’m ready to share my chaotic way of making music in the club,” Banoffee says. “I’m a big believer in mashing pop into rave sets, hard mutes and heavy grit mixed into delicate moments. All my sets are chaotic and genre diverse, which is how I make music. I want my dance floor to be unpredictable, focused on taste instead of a flow state.”

That unpredictability frames the EP as more than a return to form. Banoffee has not simply picked up where she left off. The gap away from recording appears to have recalibrated her ear toward texture and contrast, toward sets built around tension rather than momentum for its own sake. The mix and the new material share the same core: a producer reconnecting with her own voice by way of the club floor.
