Sombr Brings Out Lindsey Buckingham at Kia Forum for “Go Your Own Way”

At his Los Angeles arena show, Sombr handed the stage to a musician he called one of his biggest influences, and paired the moment with a second hometown guest.

Sombr’s Saturday night at the Kia Forum included a guest he framed as foundational rather than decorative. Introducing Lindsey Buckingham, he described him as someone he grew up on, a mentor, and an influence. Buckingham then led Sombr and his band through Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way.”

The choice says something about where Sombr places himself. Buckingham’s playing is part of the architecture of a certain strain of California pop, and hearing it inside an arena set built for a younger audience puts two eras of the same lineage on one stage.

He was not the only guest. Earlier in the night, the Neighbourhood’s Jesse Rutherford joined Sombr for “Sweater Weather,” a second appearance that made the evening read as a Los Angeles event rather than a routine stop on a routing sheet.

The date sits inside a tour with unusual reach. The You Are the Reason Tour closes its North American leg in late November with two Madison Square Garden shows, moves through four Jingle Balls in December, then heads to Mexico and South America in January 2027. Australia and Europe follow, with the run currently scheduled to end July 17, 2027 at Lollapalooza Berlin.

Putting Buckingham on a Forum stage is less a nostalgia gesture than a statement about lineage, and about the scale Sombr is already working at while the tour still has more than a year left to run.
