A fan in the United States received an unsolicited VHS tape containing cryptic audio-visual material that has quickly been linked to Boards of Canada. The footage, now on YouTube, features shortwave radio interference, degraded analogue visuals, and a generally eerie atmosphere reminiscent of the duo’s established aesthetic.
This follows the quiet launch of an official Boards of Canada YouTube channel last year, which began by hosting their classic ‘Dayvan Cowboy’ video. The duo have not released a full album since 2013’s ‘Tomorrow’s Harvest’.
