The Poison singer pulled the plug on all scheduled performances through the end of the year after his first comeback show prompted medical intervention.
Bret Michaels has canceled the remainder of his 2026 tour dates as he continues to recover from recent surgical procedures. The Poison singer, 63, will step away from the road through the end of the year.
The decision follows an attempted return on Friday, August 21st, in Sugar Hill, Georgia — his first live performance since undergoing surgery in June to remove a kidney stone and place a ureteral stent. Before that procedure, Michaels had performed three shows in what was described as intense pain, with the last one ending in immediate hospitalization.
After the Sugar Hill show, doctors and paramedics determined he still needs additional rest. “Following Bret Michaels’ comeback show, doctors and paramedics determined immediately after the show that he still needs additional rest and recovery from his recent surgeries,” a representative said in a statement. “Bret will be taking the next several months off to heal and get back to 100%.”
His physicians added their own statement, citing concerns about heat and humidity during the summer months and the effect on his blood sugar levels. “We will be pulling Bret off the road for the time being,” they said.
The cancellation affects roughly ten remaining dates, including a headlining slot at The Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
