In a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday, a prosecutor stated that the iCloud account of D4vd, the platinum-selling singer born David Anthony Burke, holds a “significant amount of child pornography.” The revelation came as his defense team pushed for an immediate preliminary hearing in his first-degree murder case.
D4vd sat impassively in a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday as a prosecutor revealed that investigators found his iCloud account “contains a significant amount of child pornography.” The platinum-selling singer, born David Anthony Burke, is already facing a first-degree murder charge.
Despite the bombshell announcement, Burke and his lawyers signaled they are still pushing for an immediate preliminary hearing. This mini-trial will review evidence in open court. The judge set a follow-up hearing for April 29 to go over evidence production, with the first day of the preliminary hearing scheduled for May 1.
“It’s been an informative hearing,” defense lawyer Marilyn Bednarski told the court. Burke watched while wearing an orange jail uniform, his left wrist shackled to his chair. He spoke only to confirm his name when asked by the judge.
The case continues to develop, with the court now managing both the murder charge and the newly disclosed allegations regarding child pornography.
