Orphan Donor Detail New Album Ailments, First Since 2021

The Pennsylvania metallic screamo outfit returns with a full-length recorded as a sextet, and a new track that splits its time between ominous post-hardcore and total chaos.

Orphan Donor will release Ailments in the coming weeks, their first album since 2021’s Unraveled. Since that frantic sophomore LP, the Pennsylvania band has been mostly quiet. A single, “Vomit In The Cathedral Of Nous,” surfaced last year, but today’s announcement marks their full-length return.

The group, originally a duo, now operates as a sextet. Kevin Morris, known for his work in Motel Bible and Full Of Hell, leads the expanded lineup. The advance track “Show Me The Way” opens with about a minute of discordant, uneasy post-hardcore before it ruptures into the kind of blown-out intensity the band built its name on.

Morris describes Ailments as a concept record centered on a terrifying and psychedelic experience. The album’s thematic framing aligns with Orphan Donor’s long-standing interest in the visceral and extreme, pushing their metallic screamo toward something even more unhinged.

A release date for Ailments hasn’t been specified beyond a window of a few weeks
