Swansea indie-pop group The Sweetest Ache will release Reframed on 9 November, pairing acoustic reinterpretations of their Sarah Records material with two new songs.
The Sweetest Ache have confirmed their first album in more than three decades. Reframed will arrive on Monday 9 November, placing the Swansea group’s early Sarah Records work in a quieter setting.
The ten-track record includes eight stripped-back acoustic reinterpretations drawn from the band’s singles and their Jaguar LP, alongside two new compositions. Lead track “Speak To Me” features guest vocals from Poppy Stone, daughter of member Peter Stone, and arrives with a video.
Formed in Swansea in 1989, The Sweetest Ache released singles including “If I Could Shine” and “Tell Me How It Feels” on Sarah Records. Reframed reunites original members Simon Court, Peter Stone and Stuart Vincent, with lifelong friend Dave Jones on bass. The reunion follows a surprise sold-out Swansea show last year after what the band describe as a 32-year hiatus.
The album will be issued through Windmill Records in the UK, Shelflife in the US, Old Bad Habits in Europe and Fastcut in Japan, with pre-orders opening on Friday 25 September. Live plans include a Bristol date in January 2027 and appearances at Malaga Pop Festival and Athens Pop Underground Festival.
